In an interview with the public relations office of Yazd Science and Technology Park on the sidelines of the “Ideation to Innovation” workshop, Mostafa Karimian Eqbal, former director of the planning department of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, said officials’ responsibility at science and technology parks and incubators is to support entrepreneurs who have ideas that could lead to creation of wealth and job opportunities. He said, “In light of this objective, idea owners should be taught how to choose the right idea through methods available for analyzing ideas and making them effective.”

“The idea chosen should be economy-related, help solve a problem, and lead to creation of wealth and job opportunities,” he added.

Karimian Eqbal pointed to the extensive measures taken by Yazd Science and Technology Park and said, “This shows that these parks and incubators have been on the right track so far.”

About the impact of supporting ideas on gaining support for Iranian products, he said, “As an Iranian, production of Iranian products is very important to me, but I prefer to see this happen in a competitive atmosphere so that Iranian products are produced in competition with foreign products. It is because preventing a competitive atmosphere from prevailing will lead to lower quality Iranian products.”

Karimian Eqbal added, “Although it is very important to support Iranian products and Iranian services and products should not be allowed to be harmed, the support provided should not eventually lead to the production of poor quality products.”

It should be noted that the “Ideation to Innovation” workshop will continue from August 6 to 9 under the supervision of the biotechnology innovation center of Yazd Science and Technology Park. Mostafa Karimian Eqbal, Mohammad Hossein Abouei, Mohammad Sepehr, Abbas Baqi, and Mohammad Reza Hosseini are lecturers at the workshop. At the end of the course, the participants will be awarded a valid certificate by Yazd Science and Technology Park.
