Technology and investment exchanges’ office between Iran and Georgia opened on 17 March in Yazd Science and Technology Park.
According to the park’s public relations office, the opening ceremony of the technology and investment exchanges’ office between Iran and Georgia was held with Dr. Poursarajian the president of Yazd Science and Technology Park,Dr. Avtandil Kasradze the chief of Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency, members of the Investment Service Center and a group of senior managers in the province.
In the beginning of the ceremony, the president of Yazd Science and Technology Park welcomed the guests and said: science and technology parks underlie international communications and scientific exchanges in technology between Iran and other countries. He added that given the opportunity after Barjam, they can identify target markets and underlie export, sale and transfer of knowledge and technology. Dariush Poursarajian pointed to the potential of capacity in Yazd province in the field of technology development and continued: cooperation between Yazd Science and Technology Park and Georgia is a good opportunity to attract investment in the country and province. So Yazd Park is serious to develop technology cooperation with other countries and expand its technology-based economy.
Finally, he praised the involvement of the private sector and its role in creating the exchange office of Iran and Georgia and expressed hope that cooperation between Iran and Georgia should be the model of international cooperation in the field of technology exchange.
In this meeting the director of International Affairs of Yazd Science and Technology Park also said: this opportunity can lead to multilateral cooperation, especially partnership with Europe.
Mohammad Ghavidel added that: Financing Yazd Science and Technology Park companies, entering to international markets and using the equipment and the capacity of Georgia are the main purpose of technology and investment exchanges’ office.
He emphasized studies for researching on the capacity of Georgia and he explained: The Office was created in line with fourth five-year plan of YSTP, bilateral transactions focused on development and transfer of technology to other countries and also the development of technology-based company. He added: theses two parks can work as a technology embassy in Tbilisi and Yazd.
In this ceremony, the chief of Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency also emphasized on communication between Iran and Georgia and called for continuation of this communication.
It should be mentioned that at the end of the ceremony, a memorandum of cooperation between Yazd Science and Technology Park and Tbilisi Park signed by the president of Yazd Science and Technology Park and the chief of Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency.
