Technology campus of Yazd park at university, a successful example of interaction between science and technology park and university

During a visit to the technology campus of the Yazd park at the university, Mostafa Karimian Eqbal, former director of the planning department of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, said the establishment of the campus by Yazd Science and Technology Park and its interaction with Yazd University are positive developments and described it as a successful example of interaction between the university and the science and technology park.

At a meeting held on April 28, 2019 on the sidelines of a visit to the campus, Karimian Eqbal said university is a mine of workforce, the public relations office of Yazd Science and Technology Park reported. “However, these forces are still raw and should be refined, and this is definitely the responsibility of science and technology parks, campuses, and incubators,” he said.

He added, “It is impossible to imagine that a science and technology park could be successful without having a good interaction with the university of that area.”

Karimian Eqbal said it is a very important and positive development to have incubators at universities, adding, “Such structures is what distinguishes third-generation universities from regular universities.”

The former director of the planning department of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology pointed to ways to improve the performance of these centers, saying, “These ways include direct interaction with companies, using experts as mentors, and creating an atmosphere for the interaction of firms with each other.”

Darioush Pourserajian, director of Yazd Science and Technology Park, said there are currently 28 companies working on this campus and noted, “There are of course more requests for entry into this center.”
